Rumah Group is a Singapore-based family office passionate about sustainable investments, communities and the environment, as well as having continuous programmes for giving.
Rumah means ‘home’. We’re driven to contribute towards a better world and advocate for causes that we feel strongly about.
Our activities include real estate, equities and environmentally-focused impact investments. Above all, we are passionate about community development, children at risk, ocean protection and climate action.
Our portfolio
RUMAH PROPERTY
Our property portfolio predominantly comprises real estate investments in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. We consider projects of different cycles, from short term investments through to horizons spanning several decades. This includes commercial, retail and residential assets, as well as townships in growing urban areas. As a leading shareholder of Certified B Corp, Sedar Properties, we believe in adding value to communities and are committed to good design, quality builds and continuous learning. We have prioritised decarbonising our portfolio - encompassing both operational and embodied carbon - and adopting new solutions.
RUMAH INVESTMENTS
Resource degradation and the impacts of climate change are becoming increasingly critical. We believe in investing for the future, and assessing technologies and platforms that we hope to see a growing demand for in years to come. Our interest areas include sustainable building materials, alternative proteins, circular economy, nature-based solutions and advocacy. Some of our investments include Circulate Capital, Big Idea Ventures, JUST Asia, Karana, Eco-Business, Better Bite Ventures, MYCL, Criaterra, BillionBricks, Undivided Ventures, Seaforestation.co, RiverRecycle and Coast 4C.
RUMAH FOUNDATION
Our team is deeply passionate about people and nature. The foundation has a humanitarian portfolio dedicated to empowering marginalised communities by focusing on critical areas, such as refugee support, poverty alleviation and community development. Driven by the urgency for ocean protection, our ocean-climate portfolio supports interventions that address awareness and education, the protection and restoration of blue carbon sinks, and alternative seafood; with a focus on Southeast Asia. Initiatives and organisations we are involved with include the Asia Community Foundation, Asia Philanthropy Circle, South Central Community Family Service Centre, MILK (Mainly I Love Kids) Fund, =DREAMS Singapore, =DREAMS Asia, 30x30 Southeast Asia Ocean Fund, Conservation International, The Good Food Institute, Coastal Natives.
Family values
Beyond what we do, how we do it is just as important to us. We care about having integrity and sustainability, which are the foundation of our approach; providing quality in the projects that we deliver, regardless of commerciality; having a strong learning culture in every project that we embark on; and bringing passion to our work, no matter where we are.
